We sell ethically sourced bricks of ceremonial grade cacao made from the highest quality cacao beans. It is perfect for daily use to start your day, during meditation and for grounding while opening your heart. Located on Vancouver Island, BC.

What is ceremonial grade cacao:

- Sourced from heirloom or high-quality cacao varieties, often grown in indigenous or traditional cacao-growing regions. HOG looks for the best beans. Always organic. We will pay more because we believe it’s important for the health of the consumer and the health of our Mother Earth. Commercial chocolate may use bulk cacao, often sourced from hybridized high-yield varieties.

- We source our cacao to be low in heavy metals.

- Minimally processed. Unlike commercial cocoa powder or chocolate, ceremonial grade cacao is free from additives such as: sugar, dairy, emulsifiers, etc.

- We gently roast our cacao beans that are then peeled and stone-ground into a paste by hand, thus preserving the natural fats and beneficial compounds. Commercial cocoa powder is defatted and processed at higher temperatures, often losing nutrients and flavor.

- Our cacao has a rich, bitter, and complex flavor with natural fats that create a creamy texture when prepared as a drink.

A one pound brick will yield roughly 22-23 servings, at 20g per serving.
